Top Ten Disney Movies

It's no surprise that I am a massive Disney fan. Now that I think about it, this is even the second Disney related post in a row I've done! Anyway, a video Carrie made a few weeks ago really got me thinking about what my favorite Disney movies are. I can always name a few of my favorites, but I never had the heart to give them an order, until now.

I sat down at my laptop with a list of every single Disney movie ever made (including Disney Channel Originals) and slowly crossed movies off until I got down to ten. Then I was faced with the nearly impossible task of ranking them all!

I'm just throwing the disclaimer out there that these are my favorite Disney movies AT THE MOMENT. I'm sure after I post this they will have already changed, but you'll get the idea.

So without further adieu, here are my top 10 Disney movies!

10. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century
As a kid I obsessed over all three Zenon movies, but the first one holds a place in my heart. The futuristic language and living in space was enough to make me fall in love with this movie!

9. The Little Mermaid
Growing up, Ariel was the only princess I ever really liked. I loved her need for adventure and her anxious sidekick, Flounder! This movie also features my favorite Disney villain and one amazing soundtrack.

8. The Princess Diaries
This is such a classic movie that I had to add it! Anne Hathaway is one of my favorite actresses and this whole story blew me away growing up. It gives little girls everywhere hope that they could magically inherit a country at any moment!

7. The Princess and the Frog
I fell in love with this movie the second I saw it. In my opinion, it has the best soundtrack of all Disney movies by far. I am a sucker for Jazz. Also, Tiana is such an amazing princess who understands the value of hard work.

6. Alice in Wonderland
As a kid, Wonderland seemed as magical as my mind was. I would dream of visiting Wonderland and having tea parties, singing, and painting the roses red. The trippy and colorful aspect of Wonderland is what sets it apart.

5. Pocahontas
I could never quite pinpoint why I've always loved this movie so much. I always thought it was the music or Pocahontas's sidekicks. Or maybe it was just that Pocahontas was one with nature and understood what home really was.

4. Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Sadly, not many people know this movie exists! I would watch this over and over as a kid and I loved every second of it! It was so different from what my life was like. I think it also may be part of the reason why I am so in love the England!

3. Lilo & Stitch
This is one of those moves that will always put a smile on my face. Stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters of all time and I love his relationship with Lilo. In addition to this movie, I used to watch the TV show every morning before school, which just added to my love!

2. Lady and the Tramp
For as long as I can remember, this movie and the number 1 movie have battled for the spot of my favorite Disney movie. I have never been much of a dog person, but this movie always tug on my heart strings and made me believe in love and happy endings.

1. The Jungle Book
Finally, we have the movie that started my love for film and the movie industry. I've spoken about it a few times, but this movie was the one that gave me my dream of working on movies one day. Besides that, this movie also features one of the best Disney soundtracks and a story and characters that will stick in your heart forever.

Obviously, I couldn't just stop there, so here are a few Honorary Mentions that didn't quite make the top 10 list:

  • Toy Story
  • Halloweentown
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • The Parent Trap

And there you have it! I hope you guys enjoyed reading about a few of my favorite Disney movies and I'd be really interested to hear what some of your favorites are!

Nothing special, but still meaningful.

Much love,
Elly
