At the end of November, my official word count for NaNoWriMo 2014 was 27,959 words. I am insanely proud of that number! Seeing as I barely wrote 5000 the year before, I am completely over the moon! I knew I wouldn't complete all 50,000 words this year just due to the sheer amount of work I was doing for school, but I never imagined even coming close to the number I got.
November was a beyond stressful month for me. The whole month was quite literally spent writing, whether it was for school or NaNoWriMo. It wasn't until Thanksgiving break where I actually had time to myself, and I knew very well that once break hit I would lose my writing momentum and stop writing for my novel.
In my old blog post on NaNoWriMo, I mentioned that I would probably use whatever I did write for future blog posts. However, I don't think I will be doing that after all. When I wrote that blog post I never believed I would finish over half of the novel in such little time. Because of that, I intend on holding onto my work. As I have said many times in the past, one of my goals in life is to become a published author. If this novel could be the one that gets picked up, I wouldn't want to waste all my hard work on separating it into blog posts.
But who knows, maybe a few months from now I'll change my mind and slowly release the novel's content onto this blog. Until then, I will enjoy the fact that I succeeded in writing my heart out in November, even if I didn't complete the novel. I wrote to my fullest and that's all I can really ask for. Nothing special, but still meaningful.
